Task 2b: Reflective Writing

Journal writing experience Within this task I have looked back at my journal and have chosen 9 events, which I feel I would benefit a lot from if I reflect on them. I am hoping when reflecting on my actions, feelings and thoughts of a certain event I have been through, I will learn something about myself, which will help me improve the way I think in the future and overall improve myself as a person. We have been given a number of different ways on how to reflect through writing. I have chosen to write about specific events using a specific way of writing given to us from the handbook. Below I have stated what I felt helped, what surprised me, what I found interesting and what I feel I may use again in the future on each of the ways we were asked to reflect. Description Here, I chose to write about an event, where I was asked to teach a street dance workshop at, named “Manchester Collaborative Event”. The aim of this event was to bring all the local dancers from around Manch...

Task 2a: Reflective Practice

When I was first given this module, and had my first set of tasks, I was very confused as I wasn’t a hundred per cent sure of exactly what I had to do and was very confused of how the blogging system worked. I remember at the first campus session I attended   a few people who had already started the course before, explained that when they were first given the module they wasn’t too sure of what to do either, but they said the best thing was to just get on with the tasks and you will eventually understand more.   I found this advice helped me a lot however I am still finding the blogging system a bit confusing. Looking back at the first module, where we had to look at technologies as “tools” and how we used them to enhance our career, I found this very interesting as I was using many of these tools already but didn’t understand how much of an impact they were already having on my career as a dancer/choreographer, and also how much of an impact it will have on my future the...

Task 1 b: Professional Communication Technologies

Before researching Web 2.0 I was not aware that I was already involved with this tool. As I use Facebook and YouTube and in the past have used MySpace.   Through research I have discovered that Web 2.0 is developing the internet by creating new and improved forms of online connection either between 2 or more people, between 2 or more online services and also between individual users and software applications. This source: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7BAXvFdMBWw explains 3 key aspects of Web 2.0; Interpersonal Computing, Web services and software as a service. I found this source very useful, however due to my lack of knowledge about technology I had to sometimes use other links to get a further understand of what was being said. Interpersonal Computing are sites such as Facebook, MySpace, YouTube, Wikipedia, Blogs etc. that people use to connect, share thoughts, videos, pictures, criteria with each other. As a performer I find Facebook, MySpace, and YouTube gre...
